Step-by-step working principle of the Packed Bed Scrubber — NAPCEN design
Contaminated industrial exhaust gas enters the scrubber from the bottom inlet duct.
Gas rises upward through a packed media bed (PP Pall Rings, Raschig Rings, or Structured Packing).
Scrubbing liquid (water, NaOH, H2SO4, or custom reagent) is sprayed downward from the top nozzles.
Counter-current contact between gas and liquid causes chemical absorption of soluble gases.
Cleaned gas exits from the top through a mist eliminator that removes all liquid droplets.
Spent scrubbing liquid drains to a sump and is recirculated via pump or discharged as per CPCB norms.
